ICLE is a corpus of written learner English including essays written by native speakers of Bulgarian, Czech, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Polish, Russian, Spanish and Swedish. subsection of the Corpus of Contemporary American English, or COCA 3 ICLE-SW and LOCNESS are frequently used together in comparative studies on learner language, despite their difference in size, but the expert corpus used here was compiled anew. These two corpora are (1) Louvain Corpus of Native English Essays (LOCNESS) and (2) a learner 2016-12-01 · LOCNESS is a 324,304-word corpus, which comprises native English essays written by British A-level pupils (60,209 words), British university undergraduate students (95,695 words), and American undergraduate students (168,400 words). LOCNESS belongs to The Louvain Family of Corpora, developed by the Université Catholique de Louvain in 1995.
